Nedforce developers compete in RAD Race 2008

On June 11 and 12 the RAD Race 2008 takes place: A high-profile contest in which pairs of developers compete against each other for two days to implement as much functionality of an application as possible. This year two teams of Nedforce developers participate.
Although this year’s assignment will only be published at the start of the race, it is already divulged that the assignment will be an application with an administrative nature, and will involve geographic information systems, business intelligence and an enterprise mashup .
The Nedforce teams will face the challenge with Ruby on Rails and other open source software. The following Nedforce software engineers will (again) promote Ruby on Rails:

RubyEnRails 2008 session on Rails software metrics

On June 10, RubyEnRails 2008 will take place: the Dutch conference on Ruby and Rails. On this conference, co-organized by Nedforce, COO Roderick van Domburg will host a session on how Rails software metrics can be used to manage software quality.
Within Computer Science there are many way to measure the quality of software. Ruby on Rails is no difference in this regard. In this session, Roderick van Domburg will cover code coverage, cyclomatic complexity, coupling and cohesion and explain how they can be used to improved Ruby on Rails applications.
During RubyEnRails 2007 Roderick van Domburg and Sjoerd Andringa, lead developer at Nedeforce, demonstrated how to write an open source YouTube clone in just 45 minutes.
